There are three related Slack surfaces, and they are not interchangeable. The search connector lets Claude retrieve Slack data into a Claude conversation. The interactive connector renders a Slack surface inside the chat where Anthropic documents drafting and sending messages, with the user confirming and executing the action. The Slack app lets users talk to Claude through DMs, an assistant panel or @mentions. Sending a message is only available where the interactive Slack connector is present and enabled.
