ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini all connect to external applications, but they organize and govern those connections differently.

ChatGPT uses apps and plugin-based workflows, Claude uses directory connectors, remote MCP connectors and desktop extensions, and Gemini uses Connected Apps such as Google Workspace.
