Does HubSpot connect to ChatGPT?
Yes. HubSpot documents a HubSpot connector for ChatGPT that reads CRM context, creates and updates records such as contacts, companies, deals and tickets, and logs engagements including emails, calls, meetings, tasks and notes. HubSpot documents no delete capability for any object, and bulk create or update is capped at 10 records at a time.

What it is
The HubSpot connector for ChatGPT brings HubSpot CRM context into ChatGPT chat and deep research. HubSpot documents read access across contacts, companies, deals, tickets, line items, quotes, invoices, orders, carts, products, subscriptions, lists, campaigns, published landing pages, website pages and blog posts, users and teams, and the full engagement history of records. Create and update are documented for contacts, companies, deals, tickets, line items, products and each engagement type. Delete is documented for no object. Access is still bounded by the permissions of the connecting HubSpot user, and create or update actions are attributed in the HubSpot audit log to both the user and the connector.

Availability and requirements
HubSpot documents the connector as available to HubSpot customers on all tiers who have an OpenAI account. Availability of the updated app version depends on ChatGPT workspace approval.
Account requirements
- A HubSpot account on any tier
- An OpenAI account
- A HubSpot Super Admin or App Marketplace–permitted user for the first connection
- Partner-seat users need Partner Admin, Super Admin, or App Marketplace access
- Per-user reconnection to gain access to newly granted tools
How to connect
Setup path ChatGPT Apps settings + HubSpot OAuth
1. Open Apps in ChatGPT settings
In ChatGPT, open your profile icon, then Settings, then Apps.
2. Connect HubSpot
Select HubSpot, click Connect, then continue to HubSpot.
3. Authenticate and pick the account
Sign in with HubSpot credentials and select the HubSpot account you want to connect.
4. Select allowed permissions
On the connection page, select the permissions the connector may use, then click Connect App.
5. Give other users access
In HubSpot, open Settings, then Integrations, then Connected Apps, open the ChatGPT connector and click Give users access.
6. Have each user reconnect
Each user reconnects the connector so the tools they need are authorised within their own HubSpot permissions.
Permissions, privacy, and admin controls
A HubSpot Super Admin, or a user with App Marketplace permissions, must connect the connector first and choose the permissions it is allowed; they then grant access to other users. In a ChatGPT workspace, an administrator enables and publishes the updated HubSpot app before members can upgrade.
- The connector respects existing HubSpot user permissions, so each user reaches only the records their HubSpot role allows.
- Create and update actions are recorded in the HubSpot audit log against both the user and the connector.
- Granting other users access to the connector cannot be undone from the HubSpot side once done.
- Because custom validation rules are bypassed, review proposed record changes before confirming them.
Platform context
- OpenAI’s Plugin Directory is now the main discovery surface, while apps remain the integrations that connect ChatGPT to external data and actions. App capabilities and availability can vary by app, plan, workspace, role, surface, model, and region. Business workspace admins can manage apps; apps are enabled by default for Business and disabled by default for Enterprise/Edu. Enterprise/Edu can use role-based access controls. ChatGPT permissions do not give an app new provider permissions; they govern when ChatGPT asks before using access already granted. Voice mode does not currently support apps.
Documented limitations
- When creating or updating HubSpot records in bulk, only 10 records can be created or updated at a time.
- Custom validation rules, including pipeline stage validations and association label validations, are not applied when the connector creates or updates records.
- When Sensitive Data is turned on in the HubSpot account, the connector cannot access engagement data.
- All interactions remain subject to HubSpot's API usage limits.
- No delete capability is documented for any object type.
- Only published landing pages, website pages and blog posts expose content data; drafts expose metadata only.
- Changing the permissions granted to the connector requires uninstalling and reinstalling it, and affected users must reinstall too.
- Connectors installed before 23 February 2026 must be upgraded before edit permissions and engagements are available.
Best use cases
- Answering everyday pipeline and customer-context questions
- Running deeper research across CRM records
- Creating and updating contacts, companies and deals from chat
- Logging calls, meetings, notes, tasks and emails against records
- Reviewing marketing campaign performance across published pages and posts
Example prompts
- “Summarize my HubSpot deals closing this quarter by stage and amount.”
- “Update the HubSpot deal for this account and log a note about today's call.”
- “Create a follow-up task in HubSpot for every contact who opened last week's email.”
- “Analyze HubSpot campaign performance for the launch campaign between these dates.”
Troubleshooting
Edit permissions or engagement data are missing
Connectors set up before 23 February 2026 need the upgraded ChatGPT app: a ChatGPT workspace admin enables and publishes it, then each user upgrades and re-authenticates.
The connector cannot see engagements
If Sensitive Data is turned on in the HubSpot account, HubSpot documents that ChatGPT cannot access engagement data.
A bulk update only changed some records
Bulk create and update are capped at 10 records per action. Split the work and review each batch.
The connector did not trigger
HubSpot recommends including the term “HubSpot” in the prompt, and the connector can be switched on from the ChatGPT composer.
Granted permissions need to be reduced
Permission selections cannot be edited in place: uninstall and reinstall the connector from the HubSpot Connected Apps page, and have affected users do the same.
