What it is
The HubSpot connector for Claude is available on the web, desktop and mobile versions of Claude and requires a paid Anthropic subscription. HubSpot documents read access across CRM objects, commerce objects, lists, campaigns, marketing emails and events, blog posts and pages, users and teams, conversations from Inbox and Help Desk channels, the Partner Client Object, and the full engagement history of records. Create and update are documented for contacts, companies, deals, tickets, custom objects, line items, products, engagements, blog posts and marketing emails, with quotes and quote templates marked BETA; campaigns, campaign assets, landing pages and marketing events are create-only. Permissions, privacy, and admin controls
A HubSpot Super Admin, or a user with App Marketplace permissions, connects the connector first and selects its allowed permissions, then grants access to other users. On the Claude side the connector is added from the connector directory to the team before members connect.
- Claude inherits the connecting user's HubSpot permissions, so each member reaches only the records their HubSpot role allows.
- HubSpot recommends setting write tools to Needs Approval so Claude proposes each change for confirmation before it is applied.
- Create and update actions are recorded in the HubSpot audit log against both the user and the connector.
- Claude is a third-party service governed by the customer's own consumer or commercial terms with Anthropic.
- Conversations from Inbox and Help Desk channels are readable, so customer message content enters the Claude conversation.
Platform context
- Claude web connectors are generally available across Claude surfaces, but individual connector requirements differ. Claude inherits the connected user’s permissions from the source service. Team and Enterprise organization owners may need to enable a connector before members authenticate it.
Documented limitations
- A paid Anthropic subscription (Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise) is required.
- When creating or updating HubSpot records in bulk, only 10 records can be created or updated at a time.
- Custom validation rules, including pipeline stage validations and association label validations, are not applied when the connector creates or updates records.
- When Sensitive Data is turned on in the HubSpot account, the connector cannot access engagement data.
- All interactions remain subject to HubSpot's API usage limits.
- No delete capability is documented for any object type.
- HubSpot recommends setting the connector's write tools to Needs Approval; on Always allow, HubSpot documents that edits may occur without asking for approval.
- Blog-post creation and publishing require author, featured image, meta description, slug and title, and an unmatched author email creates a new HubSpot author.
- Quote and quote-template create and update are documented as BETA.
- Only published landing pages, website pages and blog posts expose content data; drafts expose metadata only.
- Connectors set up before 20 November 2025 must be disconnected and reconnected by a Super Admin before edit permissions and engagements are available.
Best use cases
- Reviewing pipeline, lifecycle and engagement history before a call
- Visualising CRM context as charts and graphs
- Creating and updating contacts, companies, deals and tickets
- Logging notes, tasks and activities against records
- Creating and updating marketing emails and blog posts, and analyzing campaign performance
Example prompts
- “Summarize my active HubSpot deals by name, amount and stage, sorted by close date.”
- “Which HubSpot marketing email subject lines generated the highest clicks last month?”
- “Create follow-up tasks in HubSpot from recent email opens.”
- “Log a note on this HubSpot ticket summarizing the resolution approach.”
Troubleshooting
Editing or engagement access is missing
For connectors set up before 20 November 2025, a Super Admin must disconnect and reconnect the connector, then each user reconnects.
The connector cannot see engagements
If Sensitive Data is turned on in the HubSpot account, HubSpot documents that Claude cannot access engagement data.
The connector is unavailable on a free Claude plan
HubSpot documents a paid Anthropic subscription — Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise — as a requirement.
Partner-seat prompts return the wrong records
HubSpot recommends referencing the Partner Client Object explicitly in the prompt so the connector queries that object.
Granted permissions need to be reduced
Uninstall and reinstall the connector from the HubSpot Connected Apps page; affected users must reinstall it too.
